A while ago I studied an Open University course: “T189 Digital Photography: Creating and sharing better images”. I completed this course in July and have been waiting ever since for the results. Thanks to aquamarina over here I now know they’ll be available on the 13th! Can’t wait!

Hey John, was this worth doing? What did you learn from it?
I think it was worth it. With the course I got Photo Elements 5, I’m not sure if they provide a Mac version though so it’s worth checking first. The course told me how to chose what would make a good photo rather than just point at everything an shoot, it then showed you have to use photo elements to get the best from your photos. It also showed you how to critique your photo’s so that you can improve over time. You get the course material on DVD so you can go back later and watch the videos again; which I keep meaning to do. Having the groups on the OU to share your pictures with while critiquing each other was a good learning experience. One bit of advice, if you do the course, make sure you can commit to it. You get work to do each week over the 10 weeks so make sure you can get out to take the photo’s – summer would be better than winter for the more reliable weather.
